Ontario to Chip Away at Deficit in Fall Economic Update
With two new reports into the state of Ontario’s books now on his desk, Treasury Board President Peter Bethlenfalvy told reporters Wednesday the work will start quickly to tackle the $15-billion deficit.
“I’m cautiously optimistic — I would say even confident — that with the ideas we’ve got, we can start chipping away at that. It’s not going to happen overnight,” Bethlenfalvy said, adding the economic update would come in the fall.
