Release: MPP Peter Bethlenfalvy’s statement on Diwali

PICKERING-UXBRIDGE – Today Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain communities in Pickering-Uxbridge and across the province celebrate Diwali. It is a time to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and power over despair.

Diwali, with its emphasis on friendship, family and fellowship, is something that we can all embrace.

Today, let us take the time to remember the important contributions members of the Hindu, Sikh, Jain and Buddhist communities make to our local community, and province, every day.

May the Festival of Lights bring you joy, good health, prosperity and peace.

I wish a joyful Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas to all those celebrating.
